Hungary Pet Import Requirements
Official veterinary regulations, microchip standards, rabies rules, and breed restrictions for entering Hungary.
1. Microchip & Identification
All dogs, cats and ferrets must be microchipped with an ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15 digit pet microchip.
2. Rabies Vaccination
All dogs, cats and ferrets must have valid vaccination against rabies which was administered after microchip was implanted.
3. Titre Tests & Bloodwork
Rabies Titer (FAVN) test required if entering from a High rabies country. Titer test can only be administered after a minimum waiting time of 30 days after the primary/booster rabies vaccination, in an EU approved laboratory.
If test results are acceptable (at least or equal to 0,5 IU/ml), 3 calendar months of waiting time applies from the date of the blood sample was taken.
4. Breed Restrictions
From other EU member countries:
EU pet passport and valid TRACES document must accompany the animal
From countries outside the EU:
Valid veterinary health certificate and up to date vaccination book/EU pet passport/proof of vaccination must accompany the animal (+rabies Titer test if required).
