Official veterinary regulations, microchip standards, rabies rules, and breed restrictions for entering The Bahamas.
1. Microchip & Identification
Required: 15-digit ISO 11784/11785 compliant non-encrypted microchip or scanner that reads chip should be available.
2. Rabies Vaccination
Pets must be vaccinated against rabies not less than 1 month and not more than 10 months prior to importation. For the three-year vaccine, it must be within no less than one month and not more than 34 months prior to importation.
3. Titre Tests & Bloodwork
Bahamas does not require a rabies titer test. Recommended if entering from countries with a high risk of rabies.
4. Quarantine Requirements
No quarantine required.
5. Breed Restrictions
DOGS: Pitbull, Perro de Presa Canario (Canary Mastiff), Cane Corso, American Bulldog, and Staffordshire Terrier, Dogo Argentino dogs and any mixed breed that include these breeds are prohibited.
CATS: Savannah, Chaussie, and Bengal cats and any mixed breed that includes these breeds are prohibited. Animals not meeting import requirements well not be permitted to enter.
