Guadeloupe Pet Import Requirements

Required. If it is the pet’s first vaccination it is considered valid 21 days after its application. Booster vaccinations must be applied no less than 30 days and no more than 12 months from travel date.

Titer test must be administered if a pet is entering from a high-rabies country. If the test results are between acceptable limits, pets can enter Guadeloupe no sooner than 3 calendar months after the blood was drawn. Not required if it is not coming from a high-rabies country.

Pets entering Guadeloupe will not be quarantined upon arrival if they meet the required import regulations.

are allowed but carry many conditions for both the dog and the owner (ie: owner must be over 18 years old, dog must be always kept on a lead with a muzzle when in public, owner cannot have a criminal record, dog must undergo behavioural assessment which can only be done by a French vet, etc.)
 

To import a pet to Guadeloupe, you will need to ensure your pet has the necessary vaccinations and health certificates, which must be validated by a veterinarian and presented at the entry point (usually the Pointe-à-Pitre Airport), where your pet will undergo a customs inspection; pets can typically enter in the cargo hold, with specific container requirements, and you may need to contact the customs veterinary office in advance to schedule an appointment, especially if arriving on a weekend; import taxes may apply depending on your pet's breed and origin.
The primary entry point for pets into Guadeloupe is the Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport. Depending on your pet's breed and country of origin, import taxes may apply. Container requirements:
IATA-compliant pet carrier that is appropriately sized for your pet
Ensure proper ventilation and water access within the crate
Customs process:
Upon arrival, your pet will be inspected by customs officials and a veterinarian.
Present all necessary documentation at the customs desk
For importing pets to Guadeloupe, Customs hours are typically weekdays during standard business hours (usually around 8:00am - 4:00pm), while the Customs Vet Office hours may vary slightly but are also generally during weekdays; if your pet arrives on a weekend, they will likely be held at a designated facility until the vet office opens on the next business day, and while calling ahead to check availability is recommended, an appointment may not always be necessary depending on the situation.
